The session laws for Maryland in 1752, printed in Annapolis. The first act makes it illegal for masters to emancipate "disabled and superannuated Slaves" or to allow masters to free slaves by last will and testament, so that the slaves "may not become a Burthen to others, or perish through Want, to the great Scandal of Christian Society." Other acts address fornication and adultery, tobacco collection, with several supplementary acts or amendments, among others. Rare, ESTC records only two copies, both in Maryland institutions.
