Text toned, as usual, tiny scrape to last text leaf. Overall very good. An engaging memoir of life in the Texas Rangers by Capt. Ira Aten, a Ranger who served in various parts of the state in the 1880s and '90s. Captain Aten's career ranged from Eagle Pass to Galveston to the Canadian River, catching horse thieves and escaped fugitives, driving cattle, serving as sheriff of several towns, and more. Aten sent this reminiscence to J. Marvin Hunter of FRONTIER TIMES magazine, who published it both in serial form and in the present publication.
