[New Haven]: Parker and Company, 1760. [17-]51pp. Dbd. Contemporary ownship inscription, trimmed at top margin. Minor dampstaining to initial leaves, small closed tear at foot of leaf C4. Tanned, moderate foxing. Good plus. A pair of funeral sermons delivered by Theophilus Hall after the death of Isaac Stiles, father of Ezra Stiles, president of Yale College during the American Revolution and early federal period. He was killed by a severe flu epidemic that affected many parts of the colonies in the winter and spring of 1760. This is the second of a two-part imprint, with its own titlepage, the lacking first part being comprised of a third oration for Stiles by another fellow minister, Chauncey Whittlesley. TRUMBULL 2787.
