Gilt rolled edges. All edges gilt. Decorative endsheets. Good only. The covers and the subtly faded spine are mildly rubbed. There is a 2 inch closed tear in the leather at the head of the spine. There are several very small stains on the bottom edge of the text block. There is a 1 inch closed tear in the top edge of the front free endsheet., and there are several closed tears in the edges of the rear free endsheet. The largest tear measures 2 inches. The front flyleaves have a former owner's name and brief notation. The text block is cracked multiple times. Pp. 23-24 and the accompanying illustration are detached, but present. The top edges of the pages are occasionally lightly bumped. Tanned pages. Large numbers of plates, portraits and biographical information. A massive volume. Includes many Mormon biographies.
