Rainald Knightley, 1st Baron Knightley (October 22, 1819-December 19, 1895), known as Sir Rainald Knightley, 3rd Baronet, copy with an engraved armorial "Knightley Rainald Inveta Fortuna" bookplate affixed to the front pastedown endpaper. Contemporary ownership name of Henry Benson on front endpapers, title pages, and final page of text. The front endpapers are filled with notations in a contemporary hand, most likely by Benson, with notations in the same hand scattered lightly throughout the text. A few pages with marginal tears and or chips, several pages with minor creases, and a tiny strip of minor discoloration to the top edge of the final half of the text which is barely noticeable. An early rebacking has a new leather spine label, and has been expertly rehinged with tinted/colored Japanese tissue; retains the original tooled full-leather boards. First edition in English..
