Warmly inscribed and SIGNED in title page by Andrei B. Nakov. Translated from the French by Patricia A. Railing. OCLC: 2840573 Vladimir Stenberg (1899 1982) and Georgii Stenberg (1900 1933), were Soviet artists and designers. They first studied engineering, then attended the Stroganov School of Applied Art in Moscow, 191217, and subsequently the Moscow Svomas (free studios), where they and other students designed decorations and posters for the first May Day celebration (1918). In 1919, the Stenbergs helped found the Society of Young Artists (Obmokhu), and participated in its first group exhibition in Moscow in May 1919 as well as the exhibitions of 1920, 1921 and 1923. At the 1921 show their three-dimensional constructions were exhibited alongside Rodchenkos hanging works. The Stenbergs joined the Institute of Artistic Culture in 1920, becoming members of the First Working Group of Constructivists in 1921.
