New York: Harper & Brothers, 1923. Later printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 1923, later printing (M-X code denotes December printing, the first was August). Hardcover with red cloth boards in dust jacket, octavo, 262pp. Slight lean to the spine; text-blocks dusty; minor shelfwear to extremities. Unmarked interior. The DJ is in 2 pieces, neatly split where the spine meets the rear panel. Price intact. Shallow chipping to spine ends and corners; light staining and soil. Nearly identical to the true first jacket, but does not have the publisher's coupon on the inner flap. This novel was the first ever to win the Harper Prize for 1922-23, as well as the Pulitzer in 1924. A nice copy for the Pulitzer completist.
