The 1930 Rockwell Kent-illustrated 1 volume edition, featuring Kent's iconic woodcuts, which perfectly complement Melville's text. Beautifully bound in a full navy-blue morocco (and signed at the verso of the front free endpaper) by Riviere & Son of London and Bath. 5 raised bands, fine gilt-tooling and devices within the compartments. Gilt-bordering and lovely gilt-image of the Pequod along the front panel. Light fading at the spine, very light scuffing to the rear panel, small, neat former owner inscription at the front blank endpaper. Still though, very presentable and attractive, and solidly VG+. Thick 12mo, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers.
