New York: American Defense Society, 1917. Unbound. Very Good. Tall broadside. 6" x 18". Printed in two columns. Old horizontal fold, tiny tears in the margins, very good. The American Defense Society was founded in 1915 advocated for war with Germany and opposition to the Bolsheviks in Russia after October 1917. Theodore Roosevelt was the first Honorary President and is mentioned here in the first paragraph. A report of the Society's activities for the year including pamphlets issued, battlers against seditious German soap-box orators in New York, assualts on William Randolph Heart for "Peace editorials", organized aggresive action against Robert LaFolette in the Senate, etc., This is followed by a long list of prominent supporters of the group, the Publicity Committee was almost solely manned (and womened) by then prominent American authors. *OCLC* appears to locate no copies.
