Cincinnati, OH: J.F. Uhlhorn, steam job printer, 1866. VG-, wear to extremities of covers, very small leather tear at base of spine. Ancient library stamps from the Long Island Historical Society on title-page at left-center. No other markings. 3.4 leather with marbled boards, 5 raised band. 158 pp., followed by Boyer's pp. 1-23. This copy also contains the "Lieutenant Boyer's A JOURNAL OF WAYNE'S CAMPAIGN.AGAINST THE NORTHWESTERN INDIANS," which has a separate titlepage, but continuous signatures. This copy lacks a frontispiece called for in other copies, with no signs of removal. Written in 1826 by a contemporary of Cresap as a defense of Capt. Cresap, contradicting the statements made by T. Jefferson in his "Notes" on the state of Virginia" regarding events in Dunmore's War. ADVERTISEMENT at the beginning feigns a printer's error fot he original edition no being printed or distributed prior to Jefferson's death in 1826. Very clean inside.
