E.A.T. was formed following the influential gathering of artists and engineers at "9 Evenings: Theater and Engineering" at the 69th Regiment Armory in October 1966. Members of this group included Alfred H. Barr, John Cage, Philip Johnson, Gyorgy Kepes and even Robert Rauschenberg who was an early fficer of the organization.
