San Francisco: Pequod Press for the Vermissa Daily Herald, 1982. 32mo. (34)pp. From an edition of 101, this is one of twenty-six lettered copies hardbound and signed by the authors. A Sherlock Holmes abecedarium inspired by the women who featured in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's series. Each letter is accompanied by a four-line poem with the woman's name and a little bit about her ("I is Irene, / Whose charms were effective / In pleasing a layer, / A king, a detective"). Signed by the four authors, T. Michelle Fromkin, Evelyn Herzog, Roberta Perason, and Susan Rice. Bound in a dainty floral cloth over boards, with a paper spine label. Very fine.
