first edition NA
1908 · Chicago
Chicago: Importers & Manufacturers Co., 1908. First Edition. NA. Very Good. Four page promotional flyer. Large plumage image on front page, with illustrations of various feather types and sizes within. Also a photo of a Marshall Field window display of hats made with the company's feathers. Ostrich feathers were all the rage in women's flamboyant hats during the first two decades of the 20th century; it is to most nowadays obscure the twists and variants on the feather that developed to cater to this demand: the French curl, the half plume, etc. This is a scarce surviving sales vehicle for a supplier in this once bustling wholesale market. The flyer is 48 by 32 cm (although it was double folded) and four pages. Light wear.
