London. Faux Alligator. Very Good. A "kit" to create Art Deco lettering and symbols in various fonts. Consisting of eight sheets of thick orange-tinted plastic with cut-outs to stencil the letters and symbols, they are housed in a portfolio which is hinged above and measures 14 by 29 cm. The portfolio is sheathed in what we presume to be a faux alligator. We can not say for sure that the kit is complete, since we have not been able to locate other copies. There is nothing listed with "Econasign" on OCLC. We did find an Econasign catalogue listed in commerce, but that is not what we have here. We do know that the Econasign company sold a variety of stenciling sets, and this one here, according to the minimal information on the cover, was subject of a British patent. N.d., circa 1930. Much of the spine, which runs along the top, is perished.
