[Trade Catalogue] Swan Toys. Strong British Toys 1913-1914
by Swan Toys
Swan Toys, 1913. Wraps. Brochure.. Very Good. An unusual catalogue with a multitude of doll-related accessories (other than clothing), toy cars, rocking horses and other toys. 8vo. 22 by 15 cm. 56 pp., plus wraps. The doll equipment include doll houses, doll prams, folding tents for dolls, and the like. The miniature motor cars are ones that are large enough for boys to ride them by pedalling. This line also includes several toy aeroplanes operated similarly. Other mostly wheeled vehicles include coasters (like scooters), gig horses meant to be be pushed or pulled, carts attached to wooden horses, various bicycles and tricycles, wagons, rickshaws, train engines, wheelbarrows, "yachts" and "landboarts", toboggans, goatcarts and rockers. Other products shown include swings, double-joined animals, and folding furniture for children. A good number of the toys are ones we have ourselves never seen, and the mix of products strikes us as both consistent and original. A few ink notes, but virtually entirely clean otherwise, and light wear.
