by Lemonnier, Camille
Paris: H. Floury, Editeur, 1908. Hardcover. G+ (Ex-art library, with plastic spine label and pocket and barcode at rear; pages are aging consistently; has average use and age; in library rebinding; mylar cover is wrinkled and could be discarded.). Green library buckram, gilt letters on spine, with mylar cover, 234 pp., BW illus. Text is in French. Considers the life and work of Belgian artist Felicien Rops (1833-1898). With a number of examples of his work included. It's difficult to know if any of the plates are missing. Tissue guards seem to have been randomly placed throughout the book, perhaps as a casualty of the rebinding process. Some plates have none adjacent to them; while in other instances, tissue guards protect only text pages. Still, this book is rare, in any condition.
