Mahn, Erster Gesang (Berlin, 1835), and finally, several advertisements, notices, and other fragments relating to Mahn's various texts, critical works and guides to the several modern languages he mastered and taught. A very good copy, with the ownership signature of H. Drisler on the front free-endpaper. [American scholar Henry Drisler was a contemporary of Longfellow's who had a long career at Columbia from the 1830's, including appointments as Professor of Latin and Greek (1857 & 1867) and a tenure as acting President of Columbia. Drisler was co-editor of the influential Anthon text editions, and was also a co-editor of the seventh revised edition of the Liddell-Scott Greek Lexicon, and general editor of the Harper classical series]. ; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item.
