An amusing original drawing and autograph note from the artist and designer, illustrator of many classic children's books and the son of composer and pianist Ferruccio Busoni. Dated Mt. Vernon, December 3, 1939, the drawing shows two kneeling figures before a queen on her throne, while a turbaned man holds a decorative sign with the date. Busoni has written: "Dearest Winifred, two humble slaves send their tribute and hope you deign to accept it," and signed for himself, his wife Hannah Apfel Busoni, and their son Mario. Folding creases and tape remnants; otherwise in very good condition. 6.75 x 10 inches (17 x 25.4 cm). (Inventory #: 14026)
