First edition of this verse drama, the future social reformer, abolitionist and feminist's first separate publication. With a verse Prologue by W. T. Wolfe-Tone and a verse Epilogue by H. T. Farmer. "The play was not well received when first presented, and on its revival in 1829 met with no greater success ...." Wright was subsequently involved with the NEW HARMONY GAZETTE and its successors, and lectured widely on progressive topics.
