Some foxing to the margins and separators of the section of photographs, otherwise near fine in lightly smudged dust jacket. First edition. Designed by Merle Armitage and printed at the Rydal Press, with illustrations by P.G. Napolitano. Preface by Maurice Ries, Foreword by Mary Austin. A relatively late Rydal imprint, but an early and important production associated with the Laboratory of Anthropology in Santa Fe, under the directorship of Willard Hougland. This copy bears Hougland's presentation inscription (as publisher) on the colophon to printer/typographer Carl P. Rollins.
