Illus. with 71 plates and numerous text drawings. One plate of a British "One Pound Note" is printed in red & black. Early 20th c. brown morocco, gilt, over buckram. Inner hinges reinforced with linen binderís tape. Plates with occasional foxing and a few near the rear of Vol. I with some old water stains. Library rubber stamps on title-pages, deacquisition stamps on front free endpapers, and a small call number stamped at the bottom of the spine, but still quite attractive.
