n.d, [1972. Fine condition. Each print approximately 9-3/4 x 13 inches. Prints printed in full colours with margins Signed in the plate with Harman's name and cattle brfand, and "CA" standing for Cowboy Artists of America. Each print also has an inscription in ink "Best Wishes/ Fred Harman" The four works are: "Grub Time," "Wagon Meat," "Bear Scent," "The Point Rider." All are western scenes with dry chaparral, mountains in the distance, horses, and a man or men. Each tells a story of action--cattle or buffalo being rounded up, horses being spooked by bears, the ride back to camp to eat and relax after a hard day's work. The fine quality prints are richly colored.Fred Harman, cowboy artist, is perhaps best known for his cartoon cowboy "Red Ryder" who debuted in 1938, and has as his "Injun" side-kick "Little Beaver". Harman painted his memories and accurately described what he had seen and experienced. Affixed to the back is a short biography of Harman, and a photocopy of letter from Harman regarding the prints .
