Book Description

Nd, np (Ashfield, Mass., 1980s). . One-of-a-kind artist's book. Text, calligraphy, and binding by Suzanne Moore. One long sentence is calligraphed in ever changing colors on one long sheet accordion-folded (measures 2 3/4 when closed). Saffron yellow silk boards with thread ties. Fine. Signed by Moore. The running form of the accordion-fold reflects the running (and run-on) sentence. Suzanne Moore, painter and lettering artist, explores the boundaries and links between word and image. She is one of only two Americans creating illuminations for the Saint John's Bible--the first fully illuminated, manuscript Bible since the Middle Ages.
