Beautifully printed by Guillaume Rouille, the preface in a spacious italic more typical of eighteenth-century printing. Elaborate woodcut printer's device, an eagle on a globe between snakes, surrounded by grotesques and cupids reading books. Some faint foxing, especially to final leaves. Otherwise fine, in an attractive modern calf binding with gilt rules, and gilt floral stamps to spine.
