Printed for J.T., at the Cross of Dumbarton, 1860. Gleaned from Divers Fields of Scottish Poesy. xv, [i], 30pp., 8vo. With the text prettily printed in black letter with old-fashioned type ornaments. Contemporary, probably original, old-style blind-ruled calf , fleurs-de-lys in the corners, gilt spine label; just a hint of rubbing to extremities. First edition of this compilation, with an edition statement “Impression: Fifty Copies” on the verso of the dedication leaf. The verses are all about the Lennox family, and the preface gives their sources, which include some fairly obscure ones, but also one from Sir David Lindsay’s works.
