Lond. & NY:Macmillan 1887. 8vo, red gilt cloth, 96p. + ads, very slight cover soil else fine light normal else Fine with the envelope ( 2 mends), card and counter (only 1 present). This is the third edition but really the second published edition. The first (1886) edition was recalled by Carroll because it didn't meet with his approval, but the game and envelope were not changed and thus bear the 1886 date. According to WMGC 196, the edition we are offering was made up of only 500 copies with many changes such as "New cakes are nice replaces red apples are ripe" and the text and diagrams vary considerably."
