Folio (9-3/4" x 13-1/2") bound by David Bourbeau at Thistle Bindery in full blindstamped deep red morocco in custom morocco-backed cloth clamshell box. The text of this wonderful ABC book was compiled by Laurie Block. The illustrations consist of 26 wood engravings and 26 smaller linecuts by Alan James Robinson printed from original blocks cut by the artist. Hand calligraphy is provided by Betse Curtis. This is copy #II of 50 special copies (of a total edition of 306) printed by Harold Patrick McGrath and SIGNED by Robinson. This special edition has an extra portfolio containing a suite of the 26 engravings, each SIGNED and numbered by Robinson, plus a suite of the 26 smaller linecut illustrations, each with hand calligraphy by Curtis and SIGNED by Robinson and Curtis, all contained in a morocco-backed sleeve that matches the clamshell box.
