Translated into English, Russian, French, and Italian, the book was based on personal observation. Obersteiner was a most influential neurologist. Virtually every Viennese neurologist of importance spent some time in his laboratory, including Redlich, Spitzer, and Schlesinger. He taught Spiller and Marburg.
