It was published in Philadelphia, 1866, as The ophthalmoscope: its varieties and its use. Adolf Zander was an ophthalmologist in Chemnitz. PROVENANCE: Arthur Bedell (1880-1973), attending ophthalmologist at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, New York, "is known for the interesting fundus pictures that he published as the first book of fundus photography."
