Quarto, pictorial blue cloth, stamped in gilt, light-blue & white, depicting an aircraft carrier and an image of the world, 282 pages. First Edition. A cruise book from the 1953 Korean Cruise of the U.S.S. Boxer Aircraft Carrier (CVA-21). Signed presentation from Benjamin E. Moore, the ship's commanding officer, on the front endpaper: "To a Fine Ship Handler- Pilot Kastings, From the Boxer. B.E. Moore, Capt. U.S. N. Commanding, 11 Nov. 1953." Loaded with photographs, personnel information, etc. The Boxer saw its first hostilities during the Korean War, being commissioned right at the end of World War II. While copies of this title appear from time to time, copies signed by the commanding officer are uncommon. Very Good condition (minor soiling & few light scuffs binding).
