1934. PORTER, Katherine Anne. HACIENDA. [NY]: Harrison of Paris, [1934]. 8vo., cloth, teg, slipcase. Limited Edition of 895 numbered copies. Signed presentation from Porter on front endpaper, dated April 10, 1940, at Penn State. An arrow drawn by Porter refers to the title page, where Porter has penned another signed presentation to a different person and apologizes for the mistake: "Oversight due to too much gayety, if there can be too much. same day, same year." Error on p. 52 corrected by a cancel page. Very Good (some sunning spine); some wear slipcase.

8vo : Short for Octavo, A book whose page size is approximately 8-10 inches tall. The size is based on a sheet of paper 25 inches by 38 inches, the size of paper traditionally used by book printers, which has been folded and cut into 16 pages..
Unfortunately often misunderstood to mean 8 volumes.
endpaper : The double leaves bound into a book at the front and rear after printing. One side is glued to the inner portion of the boards (the paste-down) and the other is left loose (free endpaper).
A.N. : When used to describe the condition of a book refers to As New, "the book is in the same immaculate condition in which it was published. There can be no defects, no missing pages, no library stamps, etc., and the dust jacket (if it was issued with one) must be perfect without any tears," as defined by AB Bookman's Weekly
Cloth : Generally refers to a hardcover with cloth covering the outside of the book covers.
