FIRST EDITION OF ONE OF THE EARLIEST HEBREW BOOKS PRINTED IN JERUSALEM, AND ACCORDING TO THE SHOSHANA HALEVI BIBLIOGRAPHY THIS IS THE FIRST RESPONSA PUBLISHED IN JERUSALEM. Hebrew printing began in Jerusalem in 1841. “Responsa” refers to all written rulings made by rabbis under Jewish law, in response to questions submitted to them in writing, from the post-Talmudic period from the fifth or sixth century to the present day.
