Light wear to lower corners, tiny dent to fore-edge of rear cover. A very good copy. Early edition, first by this publisher. First published by Loring. Part of the publisher's The Pacific Series. Although dated 1879, "the Young Miner was deposited for copyright as late as October 4, 1881. This probably was arranged by Porter & Coates after they purchased the Alger plates, following Loring's bankruptcy" (Gardiner).
