Book Description

An autographed letter signed "John Kerres" to "Abm Brown" of Mount Holly, New Jersey, regarding a debt for the water company: "I write to you for myself and in behalf of the water company to beg a little further indulgence if he could possibly be extended. Although we acknowledge that you have already shown favors greater then we deserved and were you to prosecute us now we should feel thankful to you for past indulgences. But Sir, was it possible for you to for bear with us until June Court we will send or pay you about $1,500 without fail. We have prosecuted some claims to the company which we can't get in as yet. We also think that we have now got on a pretty fair track of making sale of the property and would then be able and pleased to pay you are all the principal and interest due also pay the interest on the interest which we doubt would be gratifying to all parties." The letter has the usual folds, dark ink, and is in fine condition overall with some minor faults. A fine and unusually early reference to water companies.
