Book Description
ALS. 1pg. 8” x 10”. August 27, 1943. Village [Ogunquit, Maine]. An autograph letter signed “W” to his wife: “I suppose you would be disappointed at not getting your Sunday special, so here goes. I have yours of Thursday noon. Kitchen can wait. I wonder who the guy from S.F. could be. It was chilly this Aug, had to burn paper in the stove...I’m off to C.N. [Cape Neddick] this morning to make initial use of my new paint box. Just met Grover Perkins, he’s very dapper but all his teeth are gone, looks like punch...Cough is still around in the morning but at least I get some sleep once more. My morale is up since finishing that 30 x 40. Will see what can be done with Dan Holmes this visit to C.N. Had a very good dinner last night Haddock.” The letter has some even toning and mailing folds. He also addressed the envelope, where he signed “Walt Kuhn” in the address, though it was roughly opened.
