Book Description

TLS. 1pg. 5 ½” x 8 ½”. May 6, 1929. New York. A typed letter signed “Ellis” to his father, one of the founders of Gimbels department store: “Circus Day is almost here again, and with it come many pleasant memories of previous events, each one outstripping all before. Certainly, you can count on me to be there to help in every way possible. In closing I want you to know, even if you are my Father, that I consider you ‘Orphans’ Day’ one of the great acts of human kindness.” The letter is in very fine condition.
