Book Description

ALS. 1pg. 6 ¾” x 10”. No date. Hotel Des Artistes. An autograph letter signed to Mary Margaret McBride; Hurst did not sign with her name but a drawing of a lilly: “Considering the good time I had at your broadcast, the lilies (and what lilies) become an embarrassment of riches. You are a fabulously nice person. I am enjoying the considerable repercussions to the…that we two took a stroll down Memory Lane. But of course repercussions are your daily diet. I wish I saw more of you. Meanwhile, my lilies are lofty and lovely.” The letter is on Hurst’s personal stationery and written in bright red ink.
