LS. 1pg. 8" x 10" . February 3, 1883. No place. A letter signed " Porfirio Diaz" as President of Mexico to General Manuel Loera in Spanish: " My dear companion and friend, This is the first news I have received that my horse "ÄoEl Leon"Äô is ill "Äi no one had told me. I trust you will direct the horse to the proper establishment. I appreciate your considerations and to demonstrate that I believe your volunteering to help is sincere that I ask you to please do the same should any one of the other horses become ill and you deem it necessary. Please know that I love you, your companion and friend." The letter has a toning band to the left margin and a short tear, but it is in fine condition with a large autograph.
