5" x 8" . 22pg. No date [circa 1797]. No place [Philadelphia]. An early printing of the Constitution, showing the first seven articles but none of the amendments. It is labeled on the front " The Constitution of the United States of America as Proposed by the Convention, held at Philadelphia, September 17, 1787, and since Ratified by the Several States with the Several Amendments thereto." This was extracted from Acts Passed At The First [-Third] Session Of The Fifth Congress Of The United States Of America, printed in Philadelphia by Ross in 1797. It was disbound from the original volume with leather remnants on the spine. The paper is in fine condition.
