(1816-1868). A German born American painter, Leutz is best remembered for "Washington Crossing The Delaware." He did other grand historical paintings, such as "Westward the Course of Empire Takes its Way" and a famous portrait of Chief Justice Taney. <P> ADS. 1pg. 7 ¾" x 2". No date. No place. An autograph document signed <I>"<B>E.G. Leutz</B>"</I>: <I>"Mr. Minor Randolph Harrison Esqr is at my room at present <B>E.G. Leutz</B>"</I> It is written on a slip of paper and there are five mounting remnants that show through to the front. I could find no other Leutz signatures in <I>American Book Prices Current</I> or any other source
