Book Description
DS. 7 " x 9 ¼" . 1pg. June 9th 1781. Camp Highlands. A document signed " Zeb Butler Col" two times. The document was signed at Camp Highlands in 1781, shortly before General Washington moved south to trap Cornwallis: " Please to give order for the payment of such sums or notes as shall be found due to me for service in the Later 6th Connct. Regt. From the year 1777 to the year 80 and likewise the Interest for one year five months and Deliver the Same to Wm. Sedwick the bearer hereof for my use." and then is signed by the soldier, Herman Rose. Both Butler signatures are a bit light, but this is more a function of the type of ink he used; the rest of the document is dark and in fine condition.
