Book Description

A French aeronaut, Tissandier made many ascensions beginning in 1868. In 1883 Gaston Tissandier invented an electric motor capable of delivering 1.5 horsepower to move his balloon, the forerunner of the dirigible. Document. 4" x 5 ½". No date (circa 1880). No place. An unused bookplate or flight ticket for "Messierus Albert Et Gaston Tissandier". It has an attractive design of a balloon powered by a propeller. According to my semi-literate French translation, it states: "Messierus Albert Et Gaston Tissandier beg you a good visit to their areostatique studio." The plastic it comes in is marked "Ca 1880", and it is in fine condition overall
