Book Description
White was a notes folk blues guitarist; he often appeared with Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, and heavily influences Bob Dylan. TLS. 1pg. 8 ½" x 11". September 10, 1945. No place. A scarce typed letter signed "Josh White" addressed to Marty Melcher; Melcher was a music manager, and later was Doris Day's manager and husband. White wrote: "In accordance with your request, I hereby confirm telephone conversation with you wherein I agreed to appear on the Newspaper Guild broadcast of October 14th, 1945 for the sum of $250." Someone made a few pencil corrections, including the words "Theater" and "told him we must do... can't use Josh White until... is in N.Y." The letter has two minor mailing folds, but is in fine condition otherwise with a dark autograph
