Book Description

TLS. 1pg. January 10, 1967. Washington, DC. A typed letter signed “Everett” to Congressman Jack Edwards (R-AL) declining an invitation to attend a fundraiser in Alabama due to his recovery from a fractured hip. In part: “While I have recovered from the hip fracture and put the crutches in cold storage, I still have to satisfy the energy quota because complete healing is a matter for father time and I try not to overdo it. I am sure you understand my dilemma.” Typed on Dirksen’s Senate letterhead, the letter is in fine condition.
