Book Description
DS. 1pg. 8 ½" x 14". October 22nd 1884. A partly printed document granting James Collins American citizenship. Collins, of New York, had "applied to the said Court to be admitted to become a Citizen of the United States of America pursuant to the directions of the Act of Congress of the United States of America, entitled 'An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject,' passed April 14, 1802; and the Act entitled 'An Act to define the Pay and Emoluments of certain officers of the Army, and for other purposes,' passed July 17, 1862; and the said applicant having produced on the Court such proof, and having made renunciation, and having taken such oaths as are required by the said Acts of Congress. It was Ordered by the said Court that the said applicant be admitted to become A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and he was thereupon admitted accordingly." The document has a short burn hole through the text, some stains, and the usual folds; it is in very good condition overall
