Book Description
ALS. 2pg. 8 ¼" x 10 ¼". 6th of 5th Month 1804. New Bedford. An autograph letter signed "Edmund Evers of Malston" to his uncle George Andrews of Dover, New Hampshire: "I have the happiness to let thee know that I am safe arrived at New Bedford after a very long tedious passage of 3 Months having been... off the Coast and made for St. Thomas whare [sic] I have left my Cousin George Andrews off Frains [sic] who wishes thee thee to send him a letter diverted to the care of Capt George Blair of Edenton, N Carolina, to inform him whare his Brother Edmund Andrews is with my love to him & to desire him to write an answer to me directed to thy Dear Uncle all Relations desire their kind love who are all quite well but dayly [sic] expecting to be attacked by the French which I think will not be effected, & I think before many years you will have the pleasure of seeing many of our relations in this Country. I have not yet fix'd ware [sic] to go but hope to have an opportunity in a few Days, Father & Mother send their sincere love, & I hope this will find all the family in good health... ". The letter is in very good condition with some edge wear that affects a few letters
