(1831-1891). Florence was a world-renowned actor; he often toured with his wife. He also helped found the Shriners. PS. 7 ½" x 13". April 20 1885. No place. A large photograph signed "W J Florence" of the actor. He inscribed it: "To his friend C.W. Carldock with fond remembrance April 20 1885". The photograph was taken by Falk in New York City, and it is attached to a very thick mount. There is some chipping to the corners, but it is in fine condition otherwise. The ink is dark, though the contrast is only fair
