A typed letter signed “Walter Damrosch” to his nephew Leopold Mannes: “Dear Master Scientist, Fellow Musician and Nephew Leopold: I cannot tell you how happy your letter made me. Naturally, I feel that the personal affection which you have for me has strongly dictated your praise of my simple efforts. But you know from personal experience that we musicians thrive on kind treatment and do better work in consequence.” The letter has three mailing folds and is in fine condition.
