Book Description
1pg. 7 ¾" x 8 ". July 27 - 1816. Pike County, Mississippi Territory. An early legal document from the Mississippi territory signed by Justice of the Peace <I>"<B>Michael Prescoat</B>"</I> and <I>"<B>David Terry</B>"</I>, the individual who was deposed. The document reads: <I>"Answers to the above Interrogatories... 2 I know William Wells sold one tract of land and that there was two sold, but I cannot say whether or not if John Wells Junr did not sell one of them... 3 I do not know... Personally appeard before me Michael Prescoat one of the Justices of the peace for Pike County in the Mississippi Territory David Terry and after being dewly Sworn deposeth and sayeth that the above answers are true... "</I>. David Terry stayed in Mississippi, as he was listed as part of the 1840 census as a resident of Itawamba county. The document is in good condition, and has fringed margins and thin worn away patches where the author inked over mistakes. An early Mississippi document
