ALS. 1pg. 8” x 6 ½”. July 5, 1833. No place. An autograph letter signed “Doct. Physick” to Mr. Alphonso Pageot, a French diplomat in the United States to mediate arrangements made by the July 4, 1831 treaty between America and France: “Doct. Physick presents his best complts. to Mr. Pageot. He will if possible visit Mrs. Trouvins this afternoon but if his numerous engagements prevent him today he will certainly wait on her tomorrow morning.” The letter has dark ink with intersecting folds and some toning from mounting. The ink is dark and it is accompanied by a period engraving of Dr. Physick.
